Full Residential Redesign & Internal Reconfiguration
Chelmsford, Essex.
This project involved the comprehensive redesign and internal reconfiguration of a substantial detached family residence in Essex. As a RIBA Chartered architect in Essex, our role was to modernise the property while preserving its scale, architectural presence and woodland setting. The scheme focused on spatial planning, architectural detailing and technical coordination to improve flow, natural light and long-term value.
We reimagined the existing rear extension as a cohesive open-plan kitchen–living–dining space, maximising garden connection and enhancing daylight. Key reception rooms and the principal suite were reoriented to capture front-facing woodland views, while the entrance hall and staircase were redesigned to create a more refined arrival sequence. Bathrooms were consolidated and upgraded to a contemporary, high-end standard, and secondary bedrooms were reconfigured to better suit modern family living, including the creation of a dedicated home office.
The project demonstrates our expertise in residential architecture in Essex, combining planning-led design, technical precision and practical luxury to transform a traditional family home into a cohesive, contemporary residence.
